Nadia Sajjad is a multidisciplinary artist working across ceramics, printmaking, installation, painting, and mixed media. Born and raised in Isfahan, Iran, she grew up surrounded by Persian architecture, craft traditions, and storytelling, experiences that continue to shape her artistic language. She moved to Canada in 2000 and later earned a BFA in Sculpture and Ceramics from Emily Carr University of Art + Design, where she received the André and Marita Nudelman Award for Visual Arts in 2013.

Sajjad’s practice reimagines found and traditional materials—including fabric, paper, clay, driftwood, and mirror—into layered narratives that explore identity, migration, resilience, and cultural hybridity. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including the long-term project Weaving Cultural Identities (2018–2023), shown at the Vancouver Biennale, the Museum of Surrey, the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, and the Yukon Arts Centre. She is currently developing interactive installations that combine fabric and clay to examine cultural belonging through embodied experience and contemporary technologies.
